Plant Fair - 16th May 2013
A fun doubles tournament followed by a delicious home made buffet lunch.

This year our annual champagne and canapés garden party will be held in a secret Bedford Park venue that we have never used before and has one of the largest and most beautiful gardens in Chiswick.

We won’t be moving you around so you can relax and enjoy playing with the friends you invited.

The events held and the amounts each raised are listed below.
Soup Kitchen - 14th February Held in Liz's kitchen - where else? £500 +
Bridge with supper - 8th March An informal 'competition' led by professional Neal Cutler £2,060
Plant Fair - 10th May Thanks to the loan of the Thompson's Bedford Park garden and despite heavy, continuous rain! £4,152 +
Tennis Tournament - 16th May Miraculously it did not rain! £1,400
Garden Party - 12th July Down by the river's edge. Rain - it did! See photographs below - nevertheless you came and smiled. £7,460 +
Tennis Tournament - 12th September Another dry day with sunshine! £1,210
Sri Lankan Evening - 20th October In the opulent splendour of the Sri Lankan High Commission, with drummers, dancers & the young players of the Ligeti String Quartet. £3,557 +
Christmas Plant Fair Door wreaths, table centres, poinsettias, cards, candles, ribbon, paper ......! All crowded into Liz's house - again! £4,200

Garden Party - 12th July 2012
Thank you!
Most of the food at our events is prepared and donated by the committee. Many items offered as raffle prizes or for auction at the Garden Party, are donated by friends, restaurants and local retailers whom we sincerely thank. Both Tennis Tournaments are held at Hartswood Lawn tennis Club who very generously loan us the facilities free of charge, and our hosts for the Garden Party also deserve grateful our thanks.
How is the money being spent?
We continue to help the fund for training a Neuro-oncology specialist nurse at Charing Cross Hospital. She provides support to patients diagnosed with cancers of the nervous system. A key focus is to provide patients and their families with high quality information about their cancer and the various treatment options, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their cancer journey. The nurse offers expert advice about how patients can best manage their symptoms and also provides emotional support to patients, their families and carers.
